OUR UGLY BUNCH PALM LEAF PRODUCTS ARE SOURCED FROM THE SAME FACTORY AS OUR ONE TREE PALM LEAF PRODUCTS – THEY ARE FACTORY SECONDS – THERE ARE INCONSISTENCIES IN THE UGLY BUNCH AND HAVE A MORE RUSTIC APPEARANCE THAN THE ONE TREE BRANDED PRODUCTS. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS WHEN PURCHASING.

Our Ugly Bunch 180mm Round Palm Leaf Plates deliver the same quality and durability as our premium range, but with a more rustic and imperfect appearance. These factory seconds are fully compostable, biodegradable, and sustainably sourced from Areca palm leaves. Ideal for those who appreciate a more natural, organic look, these plates are an eco-friendly choice for your next event.

Crafted with care, each piece in our palm leaf tableware range undergoes a safe and sustainable process:

1. High-Pressure Cleaning: Fallen Areca palm leaves are collected and washed using high-pressure spring water. Remarkably, 80% of this water is recycled back into the production process.
2. Pressing and Heat Sterilization: The clean leaves are then pressed and heated to 180°C. This not only shapes the leaves into sturdy, functional tableware but also serves as a natural heat sterilization method.
3. UV Sterilization and Waste Reduction: After shaping, the tableware undergoes a final UV sterilization process, ensuring each piece is safe for food contact. Any offcuts from production are cleverly repurposed to create smaller bowls, minimizing waste. The remaining scraps are composted to nourish the very trees they came from.
4. Advanced Photohydro-ionization Treatment: Just before packaging, the tableware is treated with a chemical-free ionizing UV radiation process. This non-penetrating method effectively sanitizes the tableware to food-grade standards.
