It’s no secret that Bygreen are avid supporters of creating change (just look at our product offerings and all they represent!) – and SIP week is at the forefront of our minds as we continued our support this year.
The Perry Cross Spinal Research Foundation aims to continue research into the services and support required for those affected by spinal cord injury and so, in 2002 SIP week was born. The action of sipping through a straw for an entire week represents those who are without movement below the neck and therefore, must drink through a straw.
Donating $0.50 from every carton of paper straws sold throughout Siptember was an easy decision for our team, as we support the cause and its continued research. With paper straws on trend and Bygreen doing our bit for sustainable practices we were excited to see cartons fly out the door.
As such, we’re happy to proudly donate a total of $921.00 from these sales to the foundation and will continue in our efforts to provide support as we are able.
“Almost every single day in Australia, someone has their life changed forever by a spinal cord injury. SIP Week encourages everyone to drink all beverages through a straw, just like those with a spinal injury, to help raise funds to find the cure for paralysis. You have the power to change a life today. You don’t have to run a marathon, or even break a sweat, just drink all your beverages through a straw and fundraise.
